Please keep in mind that multiple events may be occuring at the same time. 6:30 pm – 7:00 pm: Pre-Sunset Ceremony Entertainment As a non-profit Central Florida Highland Games seek to promote the Sottish traditons, althletics and arts.2:00 pm – 4:30 pm: Pipe Band Competition and Invitational Drum Majors.1:15 pm – 2:00 pm: Regimental Drum Majors.1:00 pm – 6:00 pm: Professional Heavy Events.All these events ensure a wonderful sound and atmosphere with each of the Games offering a slightly different mix of events keeping the Games. 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm: Opening Ceremonies and Massed Bands These events range from the heavy events (hammer throwing, tossing the caber, throwing the hammer, the shot) through to the light events (running, cycling, tug o war, highland dancing, solo piping).
9:00 am – 12:00 pm: Solo Piping and Drumming.8:00 am – 12:00 pm: Amateur Heavy Events.The tentative schedule for 2023 is listed below. There are usually Celtic music and dance performances, demonstrations in medieval sword fighting and falconry, whisky tasting opportunities and competitions in dancing, bagpiping, drumming and athletic events like hurling and Gaelic football. Sheep herding at the Victoria Highland GamesĪ wide range of activities take place at the Victoria Highland Games event. This includes a children’s zone with bouncy castles, an area for food trucks and (of course) a beer garden. There are also a couple areas primarily for spectators each year. Throughout the day, we have all the traditional highland games events from wrestling, pipe bands, heavies, arm wrestling to Scottish dancing. There are animal events as well, with an area set up for dog agility and sheep herding competitions. This is the site of the opening ceremonies’ marching bands most years, as well as a couple of stages for live performances and a sports field for the heavy competitions. There is a Clans Area with booths offering information about local Celtic organizations and Celtic culture, and a Market Area with vendors selling everything from tartan clothing to fudge and all kinds of souvenirs.įor the different events themselves there is a large grassy field. The Victoria Highland Games and Celtic Festival is a large event with activities and things to see and do all over Topaz Park.įor the festival, Topaz Park is usually divided up into different areas.
